Updates

5/31/2006 - So, a lot is going on right now. Just a little list off. The Walkmen have a NEW ALBUM OUT that hit stores last week, it's good, go buy it. They're also going ON TOUR RIGHT NOW, go see them. We have lyrics for some of the songs on the new album up temporarily in the forums here and you can get cheap Walkmen tickets through Ducat King.

10/19/2005 - Okay, some more links for today. First off, I'd like to thank a new forum member who saw the show in Osaka, Japan and informed us that The Walkmen did not disappoint. Now for the links. First is a review of a show The Walkmen played in North Carolina. It gives a little info about what the reviewer thought of the new songs, but it's not that special of a write up. The second link is a bit more interesting. It's the official site for the Stubbs the Zombie soundtrack, which might need some explaining. For those of you who haven't heard the news, the new Xbox game, Stubbs the Zombie, has a soundtrack featuring a bunch of current bands doing covers of fifties songs. The Walkmen play "There Goes My Baby," originally by The Drifters. The reason the link is so important is because you can listen to all the songs on the soundtrack and I must say that The Walkmen do a wonderful job keeping the feel of the song. I'm also a fan of the Raveonettes doing "My Boyfriend's Back" and the Flaming Lips with an entertaining rendition of "If I Only Had a Brain," which seems to be a perfect finish to any zombie game. So, enjoy the new music and buy the soundtrack/game if you're really interested. -Jon

10/08/2005 - A couple of small notes for today. First, an article in the Japan Times about the shows The Walkmen will be headlining in Japan. The second is just a couple of pictures taken at the Austin City Limits festival. Picture1 and Picture2. That's if for now. Enjoy the pretty Walkmen pictures. And for more pictures from the festival you can check out the gallery over at the ACL official site. -Jon

10/03/2005 - A big welcome to any new comers from the official site. Just a few updates today. First, the tour dates are finally updated. Second, some news about the new album and a book is at Pitchfork, so everyone should go read what that's all about (You have to scroll down a bit). Another little news type tidbit for anyone who doesn't know, Pete and Walt are now switching instruments for all new songs at shows, so now you have even more reason to see them in concert. -Jon

07/25/2005 - More progress has been made. After many months since the release of the Christmas Party Vinyl and The Little House of Savages singles we finally have them up in the discography and lyrics sections. Other minor revisions have been made to the site with regards to formatting. There is a lot more planned, so hopefully we'll get some of it up before the end of summer. -Jon

05/26/2005 - AN UPDATE?! That's right, the site is back in action. Sorry for the long delay, but summer is here and the updates should be rolling along soon. The first update is the sphere of influence and an update to the tourdates. We still have a lot more material coming soon and as a reminder, the forums are still active so check it out. We've also seen some of the new material in concert and can safely say that the next album will be freaking great. So if you haven't seen them live in a while, make sure you catch them when they come around your area. - Jon and Patrick

11/13/2004 - No the site isn't dead, we're just busy, hope to make it up soon. The Walkmen are releasing their christmas cd on 7" vinyl. The song "Christmas Party" is on the official site via mp3 so check it out. Also check the official site for information on their current tours backing up Cake and the Pixies. -Jon

09/20/2004 - Yay, an update. There's a lot going on for The Walkmen right now and we have info on some of the new happenings. First, as you can see on the official site, they had to cancel the show in New Orleans, hopefully they'll get back there sometime. The other news from the official site is that they'll be touring in Japan for October. They don't have dates up yet and I can't find dates, but I'll try to clue you in if I get any info, or if anyone else has information on the tour, please let me know. Now for our stuff. Some bits of news have been put up in the forums and here they are. The UK label Fierce Panda is making a six song ep featuring The Walkmen. No word yet on what song will be used, but you can check out more information in the discography page. The other big news is that The Walkmen will be playing the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in Long Beach with Modest Mouse. Check the tourdates section for details and a link to an article about the festival. One last thing is a new article in the links section about touring. Check it out. -Jon
